Tenby Youth Forum and Club members have been working hard over the past couple of months consulting with Gateway members about their preferences for a May Ball.
Youth members then filled out an application form after researching possible venues that had to meet certain criteria and were successful in their bid and received £500 from YouthBank to help the event to happen. Debbie from The Snooty Fox in Martletwy, provided a beautiful decorated venue free of charge and organised a delicious buffet for the 70 guests that attended on Thursday, May10.
The Youth forum have organised the masked ball night, greeted guests, served at the buffet table, added additional decorations and took photographs.
WINGS provided the entertainment whereby all attendees are welcome to get up and have a go on an instrument or sing with the band and a raffle took place where the main prizes of a meal for two and a bottle of wine were kindly donated by The Snooty Fox, proceeds of the raffle go back into the charity.
The night was a huge success and the atmosphere was electric. “It was lovely to see different social circles integrate and get on so well as there are not many opportunities that arise where people with disability needs and mainstream mix socially,” said Donna Wright, Community Youth Worker for Tenby.
Youth forum were thrilled at the turn out and really enjoyed the whole experience and finished the night as a group singing with WINGS.
