A budding young footballer from Tenby recently got the chance to show off his soccer skills on one of the biggest stages in European football.

Dylan Rees, a Year 7 pupil at Greenhill School, travelled to Old Trafford on Saturday, November 1, after winning a Manchester United Soccer School competition, which would allow him to take part in a skills test in front of a crowd of spectators there to see the current Premiership winners and champions of Europe take on Hull City in a league fixture.

Dylan, along with his dad Nicky, arrived at the stadium at 9 am and they were then whisked off to Man United's training ground, The Cliff, where they were presented with the team's Soccer School kit and also two tickets for the game against Hull City.

Dylan then took part in four different skills tests at the training facility, before having lunch and then being transported back to Old Trafford with dad to take up their front row seats.

Before the game, Dylan and the rest of the competition winners were taken out onto the pitch and played small skill games for about half-an-hour ahead of kick-off. The participants were also given a tour inside the stadium to see the tunnel and players' changing rooms, before being able to sit back and enjoy a thrilling game, which Utd eventually won 4-3.

Dylan, who is currently coming to the end of a six-week trial at Cardiff City, and also plays for his school, Tenby AFC, the Pembrokeshire County side and Cardiff City Development, also had the support of the rest of his family in the stands to see him parade his talents.

The following day, to complete a full football week, Dylan played for his Cardiff side in Coventry!
