Tenby has once again enjoyed success at the annual Wales in Bloom competition by retaining its title as best 'small country town'.
It's the 26th time the seaside resort has taken the crown and all involved with the Tenby in Bloom committee will be hoping for further floral success when judging takes place soon for the Britain in Bloom contest.
"Once again, we're thrilled with the achievement for our town," said Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, chairman of the Tenby in Bloom committee.
"On behalf of the whole of the Tenby in Bloom committee and the town council, I would like to thank all those that have been involved and Pembrokeshire County Council's gardening team.
"Some people have made a really tremendous effort this year and we hope that the result will inspire others to follow their lead.
"To be classed as one of the top floral towns in the country is a wonderful honour and it's nice to know that we are up there with the top
"We hope that the result will put us in good stead for the forthcoming Britain in Bloom awards, when we will have a good opportunity to show that event's judges Tenby's floral and environmental credentials," added Clr. Mrs. Lane.
Others from the area that picked up awards in this year's Wales in Bloom contest, included Tenby's Giltar Hotel on The Esplanade, which went one better this term by winning the trophy for best 'hotels, guest houses, public houses and restaurants frontage' in it's section, while Lydstep Beach Holiday Village earned a merit in the 'caravans, camping and holiday homes under 100 units' category.
Judging for the Britain in Bloom contest will take place next Thursday, August 12.
