Members of the Tenby Visually Impaired People Group met at the Avenue Centre on Tuesday for their December meeting. Although several members were missing, all of whom had sent Christmas greetings to the group via Elly Morgan, those who were able to attend enjoyed an afternoon of carol singing followed by a sumptuous tea. The entertainment was provided by Eva Rich, accompanied by June Thomas, and as well as community carols, Eva sang some solo items, together with a couple of duets with June. Sausage rolls and a delicious sponge brought along by Iris Roblin, together with other goodies, were then served by members of Saundersfoot Innerw Wheel, and Betty Gordon cut the beautifully iced Christmas cake which had very kindly been given to the chairman, John Webb. Flowers were presented to secretary Margaret Walker and to Betty Gordon as treasurer, and they were thanked for all their hard work on behalf of the group. Gwen Gilson also thanked project workers for the visually impaired, Elly Morgan and Tom Forgaard, for all their help throughout the year, and thanks were also expressed to Eva and especially to June for providing the entertainment. A bumper raffle concluded the afternoon, first prize being won by Stuart Jones. Everyone was wished a very happy Christmas and a healthy and peaceful 2008, and the PBS bus then took members to their homes after a very pleasant afternoon together. If any visually impaired person would like to Join the group, please contact Margaret Walker on 843464.
