The October meeting of the Tenby Visually Impaired People Group took place last Tuesday and should have been a visit to Lydstep Beach. However, due to the very wet afternoon, members of Pembrokeshire Coast National Park took the beach indoors. Ranger, Lesley Jones, gave a brief history of Lydstep Estate, and then she and other staff showed members various seaweeds, fossils, coral and crab shells that she had collected from the beach, which everyone enjoyed feeling and examining, together with a raised map of the Pembrokeshire coastline. Tea was served courtesy of Bourne Leisure, and everyone agreed it had been a very interesting and enjoyable afternoon despite the weather. Saundersfoot Rotarians and the PBS minibus then took everyone home. The next meeting is on Tuesday, November 20, at The Avenue Centre, Tenby. If any visually impaired person would like to join the group, please contact the secretary, Margaret Walker, on 843464.
