The July meeting of the Tenby Visually Impaired People Group was held on Tuesday at the Greenhill Centre, Tenby. Chairman, John Webb, welcomed everyone, and the roll call revealed that there was an excellent attendance, with just a few members missing. The speaker for the afternoon was Betty Wheeler, of Milford Haven, who told everyone about her involvement with the Visually Impaired Drama and Art Groups, explaining how the productions were recorded and edited, and how clay and other tactile art materials had been used. A short extract from the latest production was played, and members were advised that the CD, which contains two short plays, was on sale for £3.50. Project worker, Elly Morgan, thanked Betty for coming along, and welcome refreshments were then served by the ladies of Tenby Inner Wheel. Some discussion then followed about a lunch in September rather than at Christmas time, and final arrangements would be made at the August meeting. The raffle was then drawn, this month's winners being Joan Macro, John Webb, Gwen Gilson and Lena Griffiths. Grateful thanks were expressed to the Tenby Inner Wheel who had provided tea over the last six months; Saundersfoot Innerw Wheel would take on these duties from August. The PBS minibus and Saundersfoot Rotary Club drivers then took everyone home after an enjoyable afternoon. The next meeting is on August 21, and if anyone is interested in joining the group, please contact the secretary, Margaret Walker, on 843464.
