There was an excellent attendance at the March meeting of the Tenby Visually Impaired People Group held on Tuesday at the Greenhill Avenue Centre. Chairman, John Webb, welcomed everyone, and the usual roll call was taken. Best wishes were extended to secretary, Margaret Walker, and to Pat and George Palmer and Glyn and Betty Richards, and there was a special welcome to new member, Lena Griffiths. The entertainment this month was provided by Gary Jones from the Fishguard area, who told interesting stories about Pembrokeshire history and sang folk songs relating to the shipping industry of the past, in particular the whale boats. He also played his concertina and brought along an old harpoon. Everyone enjoyed the afternoon, and refreshments were served by the Tenby Inner Wheel ladies. Raffle winners this month were Jim Hatcher, Eileen Perriman, Mavis Owen and Iola Evans. The afternoon ended with a sing-song, with Hughey Beynon at the piano, and the PBS minibus then transported everyone home. The next meeting will be on April 18 and anyone interested in joining should contact Margaret on 843464.
