There was an excellent attendance at the April meeting of the Tenby Visually Impaired People Group held on Tuesday at the Avenue Centre, Tenby, the roll call revealing 24 members plus the two Project workers, Elly Morgan and Tom Forgaard. There was a special welcome to new member, Joyce Mawdsley, and good wishes were extended to those members unable to be present. The speaker for the afternoon was Police Community Support Officer, Simon Lewis, who told everyone of his duties in Saundersfoot, Manorbier, St. Florence and surrounding areas. Simon explained that he dealt with minor incidents and hopefully his presence would prevent disturbances and general misbehaviour in the locality. He answered various questions from members, and looked forward to meeting everyone in the community and at the Police Forums held each month. Welcome refreshments were served by ladies from Tenby Inner Wheel, and this month's raffle winners were Mollie Page, John Webb and Pat Palmer. Elly thanked Simon on behalf of the group, and the usual transport took everyone home after an enjoyable and informative afternoon. If any visually impaired person would like to join the group, please contact Margaret Walker on 843464.
