The August meeting of the Tenby Visually Impaired People Group took place on Tuesday at the Avenue Centre, Tenby. The roll call revealed some 20 members in attendance, and a welcome was extended to new member, Betty Austin. Rehabilitation officer, Lucie Fowler advised members on the various procedures for referrals, obtaining low vision examinations, and demonstrated various items of equipment which could help with daily living skills. She was ably assisted by project worker, Kate Arnell, who is providing assistance during Tracy Martin Smith's secondment. Welcome refreshments were served by Ros and Sue, of Saundersfoot Inner Wheel, and menu details and deposits were taken in connection with the lunch at the Gower Hotel on September 18, which everyone was looking forward to. The lucky raffle winners were Reg Peacock, Iris Roblin, Betty Austin and Geoff Eason. Following an interesting and informative afternoon, members were transported to their homes. If any members missed the meeting, but wish to attend the lunch in September, please contact Margaret Walker on 843464, or indeed if any visually impaired person in the locality wishes to join the group.
