Pembroke Dock Quins 3 pts.

Tenby United 15

Tenby's away victory ensured them a place in the semi-final of the Pembrokeshire Cup, a competition they have won more times than any other Pembrokeshire team.

The absence of regular 1st XV players, Sam and Toby Smith, Gareth Nock and Johnny Lane, did little to diminish Tenby's determination to play expansive rugby. Had the final pass been made Tenby would certainly have added to their three-try total.

Tenby were well led by Nicky Guymer, who is developing as both a player and captain, with the dynamic pack, led exceptionally well by the back row of Jason Ronowitz, Robbie Tuttle and Iliasa Torau, laying the basis for their victory.

It allowed Tom Lewis to unleash the attacking potency of Dan Colley, Arthur MM and Dai Meyrick. The young Quins threequarters had little answer to their strength and guile.

All three tries were well created and came after sustained pressure. Dai Meyrick scored the only points of the first half, sprinting clear to score in the corner.

Pick of the tries was Dan Colley's, and came as a result of a counter-attack, with all the backs handling.

Victory was ensured when Tom Lewis crossed minutes later after a scrimmage close to the Quins' line.

Pembroke Dock's solitary points came from their promising outside-half, Adam Cawley, who dropped a goal in the closing minutes of the match.

The two teams play again on December 18 in a league encounter at Heywood Lane.
