Following the late withdrawal of Bishop Stortford, the First XV welcomed Whitland 2nds to Heywood Lane.
In an extremely entertaining game, United edged out their visitors by three tries to one.
Tomorrow (Saturday), opponents at Heywood Lane were due to have been Division Three team, Haverfordwest, in the first round of the Pembrokeshire Cup, but this has been called off as the visitors are unable to field a front five.
Coaches, Neil Duffy and Mark Brace extend a warm invitation to all players who wish to represent the 2nd XV this season. Other teams in their league are Haverfordwest, Carmarthen Quins, Crymych, Laugharne, Lampeter, Newcastle Emlyn and Cardigan. Training takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 pm.
New coach of the Under 16s and Youth teams, Gary Tapley, also extends a warm invitation for boys to attend training at The Clicketts, 7 pm, Wednesdays for the Youth and Thursdays for the Under 16s.
