Tenby Under 13s had their last outing of the season at the Neyland Tournament on Sunday. They went in to their first match against Pembroke Dock Quins looking keen and were soon rewarded with their first try, Mathew crossing the line. After that, Tenby didn't let Pembroke Dock get a look in, constantly attacking the opposition with very aggressive play and great tackling. Greg C and Joe D were both rewarded with tries to make it 3-0 to Tenby. Tenby's second match against Munster B started with a great try, James W running the whole length of the pitch for a lovely individual score. After that, the play was all Tenby, with some great runs from Ben P, who was unlucky not to cross the line, Greg C and Joe D, who both went over the line again. A last try from Elliot, after some great jinky running and a lovely pass from Greg P, sealed the game 4-0 for Tenby. Tenby's third match against Narberth started with a try from the kick-off for Narberth. Tenby didn't let this put them off and piled the pressure on Narberth, Matthew and Dylan linking up to allow Matthew to cross the line for another try. Narberth had another runaway try, making the score 2-1 to them. The fourth match against Haverfordwest saw probably some of the best rugby Tenby had played all season. They didn't let Haverfordwest have a look in, with Joe D crossing the line again and Greg C getting a brace. All the boys played well, putting in big tackles and great passes, with the whole team working together. The Tenby supporters and coaches found that match a pleasure to watch! Tenby started their semi-final clash against Munster A with high hopes. These, however, quickly faded as it became apparent Munster were a much bigger, older looking and fresher team. They quickly got five tries on the board and, although Tenby tried hard, with some big tackles, they weren't really in the game. Tenby had a great day with some brilliant rugby played; the games against Narberth and Haverfordwest were a pleasure to watch. All the boys played exceptionally well, with great tackling, rucking and mauling, brilliant passing and a great team spirit! Well done boys and coaches. Tenby fielded: Wesley Bonser, Dylan Griffin (capt.), Ben Prestwich, James Oakley, Jack Butler, Matthew Lewis, Joe Dennis, Greg Palin, James Woods, Elliot Randell, Ben Thomas, Greg Caine.

Tenby Under 13s who reached the semi-finals of last weekend’s Neyland tournament.
