Were you one of those who witnessed the 'Tenby twister' on Friday morning.

Bob James, of Tenby Lifeboat Station, was among them and was so fascinated that he reached for his camera to capture this tornado-looking sight in the sky above Caldey Island.

"The sky was very black and this shape which looked like a tornado, but of course wasn't, came down from the clouds just as it reached Caldey," he described afterwards.

"I think it is called a water spout. It didn't touch the ground, but hung around for about 10-12 minutes before disappearing as if someone was in the cloud winching it up."

Golfers on nearby Tenby golf course also stopped to watch this phenomenon as there was a lot of activity in the skies that morning, with low-flying jets and helicopters passing close overhead on training manoeuvres.

In fact, one helicopter appeared to be heading in the direction of the 'twister' before it disappeared - the twister that is.
