Tenby Town Council hails the Ironman Wales event as a key highlight for the seaside town, bringing energy and positivity.
The spectacular sporting triathlon returned to Tenby and its surrounding area once again on Sunday, September 13.
Sharing an account of the 2026 event, TTC stated: “What a day for Tenby. Ironman Wales has become one of the highlights of Tenby’s annual calendar, bringing athletes, families and visitors from across the UK and around the world into our town.It is an event that brings Tenby to life and brings the community together.
“From the organisers and volunteers to our local businesses, residents, schools, community organisations and everyone who comes out to support the athletes, so many people play a part in making the day what it is.
“Tenby Town Council was proud to be represented throughout the day, with Deputy Mayor Councillor Tom Sloan, Deputy Mayoress Daniella Sloan and County Councillor Sam Skyrme-Blackhall attending throughout the day from the early start at the launch of the swim, onto support at transitions and all the way through to the medal presentations at the finish.
Pembrokeshire County Council’s Chairman Delme Harries was also at the event throughout the day, and headed the finish-line presentations, handing out medals to finishers.
“But ultimately, this is about Tenby,” continued TTC. “Ironman Wales brings new visitors, new connections, new opportunities and a huge amount of energy and positivity to the town.
“It puts Tenby in front of new audiences and showcases the people, businesses and community spirit that make our town such a special place.
“It is now an integral part of Tenby’s events calendar and one of the highlights of the year for all of as at Tenby Town Council.
“Thank you to everyone who helped make another Ironman Wales such a memorable day for Tenby,” added TTC.
