Children's author Jane-Anne Hodgson has based her new book 'Grubson Pug's Christmas Voyage' in Tenby, where she also wrote it.
Tenby is given the fictional name of St. Benfro in the book, but familiar landmarks such as Caldey Island are easily recognised.
Jane does most of her writing in Pembrokeshire where she finds the sea and countryside the perfect place to get creative.
She said: "Pembrokeshire was the scene of many family holidays when I was a child - and I was writing stories then! It is still a very unspoilt area and the beaches, castles and town have been the settings for stories for hundreds of years."
'Grubson Pug's Christmas Voyage' is traditional children's book about the true spirit of Christmas and early sales are very encouraging.
The book is an amusing antidote to the modern day frenzy of spending and receiving at Christmas time and contains original characters, an unpredictable plot, humour and magic. It is a great family read for six to 10-year-olds, but is also popular with younger children.
Locals will also enjoy the illustrations in the book which include a landscape of Tenby and a harbour scene amongst the quirky and very charming character drawings.
