A Tenby student who has been wowing audiences on the decks is setting off to DJ at the party capital of the world - Ibiza this month!

Dainton Jones a pupil at Ysgol Greenhill, Tenby’s secondary school, who is a native of Kilgetty, turned turned 15 years-old last month and has been an avid DJ enthusiast since the age of 11.

Since November 2024 Dainton has been attending a DJ academy in Swansea - ‘GP Academy’ - owned by successful DJ Greg Pickin who also owns and runs the nightclub called Heaven in Wind Street.

Greg has played with many top class world famous DJs and in venues throughout the UK and abroad - but it actually took him over 20 years to play in Ibiza where Dainton is having the opportunity to play at the age of 15 - when he sets off for the island on May 21.

Dainton is fast becoming a rising star in the DJ fraternity, having already played the Heaven nightclub on three occasions over the last couple of months; and on one occasion recently he played alongside Paul Reynolds - a resident DJ in Ibiza who has in the past played alongside David Guetta, Calvin Harris and Carl Cox.

He congratulated Dainton on his performance and stated he has a ‘very promising future’ in the DJ industry.

On Sunday, May 4, Dainton again played in Heaven nightclub prior to another infamous DJ Jon Pleased Wimmen, which proved to be his last gig before he flies out to play Ibiza.

Dainton has been chosen along with seven other DJs from Greg’s academy to play in the 5 day event, namely the ‘100% Weekender’ which includes pool parties and a boat party.

Dainton will play in ‘Bam Bu Ku’ - part of the Ocean Beach Group on Friday, May 23 and then again in ‘Plastik Nightclub’ on Sunday. May 25

There are further plans for him to return to Ibiza and play in other nightclubs in the near future.

Dainton is a twin to Casey Jones, who not to be outdone by his brother has a been a successful ballboy at Swansea City AFC.

Casey has been a ballboy during the 2024/25 season and gained much respect by the fans at the Swansea.com Stadium, to the point where the Swansea Supporters Group have stated he is a ‘breath of fresh air’ in that he regularly entertains the crowd!

Casey’s interest with the Swans has stemmed from his step-grandfather's (Nigel Dalling) previous playing career at Swansea AFC in 1975, where he still holds the record of being the youngest ever player to have turned professional with the club at the age of 15 - an achievement which has never been beaten to this day!

Casey is also musically minded and an avid drum player having played at several school concerts on his own. His dream is to hopefully join a band in the near future as a drummer.
