Tenby songsters Duncan and Rebecca Whitehurst who form part of retro folk beat combo The Lucky 12 are singing a song-a-day to raise funds for Parkinson’s UK in May.
Ten years ago Duncan was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, but thanks to the NHS and research funded by charities like Parkinson’s UK he still has times when he can write songs, play guitar and sing.
So to say a big ‘thank you’ for the extra advice and support that Parkinson’s UK provides, the duo are posting a new song every day in May on their ‘The Lucky 12’ Facebook page to raise more money for the charity.
“Some days Parkinson’s can make it difficult to move, play guitar and sing for Duncan, so what we’re hoping for is one good patch in every day when it’s possible to play, and if it all works out there will be a video posted every day in May,” said Rebecca.
So far the couple have beaten their target of raising over £2,000 for the charity, but are hoping to raise even more over the course of the month.
