Sunday Racing
As last week, Arctic conditions meant there was no sailing last Sunday. I'm delighted to report that Daniel Jackson has won the Frostbite series. Well done Dan.
Jam Evening
The next electric jam will take place on Monday, January 24. It's the place to be.
Darts
Our festive practice session was well attended, with members enjoying superb nosh prepared by captain Terry Evans. The darts, however, did not inspire! It seems that our lack of darting skills has reached a new low. This does not bode well for the next match on January 7 when we are at home to Saundersfoot Sailing Club. They must be feeling confident, given our recent form.
Club Christmas Party
The club Christmas Party was well attended, with members enjoying a Christmas quiz set by commodore Terry Evans.
Members enjoyed excellent food prepared by Terry Evans, Karin Morris and Jane Stewart-Walvin - many thanks to our culinary heroes.
During the evening, the raffle for the hampers, prepared by Karin Morris and Julia Dashfield, were drawn, with the first prize going to Jane Stewart-Walvin.
The proceeds will go to the junior section for boat maintenance etc.
Howard
Howard will continue delighting us with his culinary skills in the new year. There will a change of format - members should contact Terry Evans with their choices prior to any evening - this is to ensure that Howard can acquire the appropriate foodstuff and prevent waste. More in the New Year.
New Year's Eve
The club has acquired the services of Howard who has agreed to put on a New Year's Eve three-course meal. Reservations have been excellent - there are only a couple of places remaining, so if you intend to participate, please contact commodore, Terry Evans, on 844256, as soon as possible! Also, would those who have made reservations please inform the commodore of their choices so that Howard can get going on his prep. It's going to be a great evening - book early to avoid disappointment.
Boxing Day
The club will be open on Boxing Day when the annual Christmas draw will take place. Mince pies, pasties and bacon butties for the ravenous.
Website
Information on club activities etc. can be found on the club's website, http://www.tenbysailingclub.org.uk">www.tenbysailingclub.org.uk
This is a very friendly and welcoming club, which endeavours to involve all members in a variety of activities. If anyone would like to join us, now is an ideal time, especially with the discount still on offer. Contact any member who will be delighted to furnish you with further details.
Finally, may I, on behalf of the commodore and the club, wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.
