Sunday racing

Sunday's racing took place in very light conditions. Race officer Mike Stace set a course in keeping with the prevailing conditions. After handicaps were taken into account, the final positions were as follows:

Paul Evenden and Anthea Paterson in an Osprey; Daniel Jackson in a RS600; Nick Berridge in a Phantom; Paul Redford in a Phantom.

Junior Training

Yet again, over 20 youngsters turned up for the usual junior training session, but the adverse weather meant only the more experienced trainees ventured onto the water. The trainees were not unduly upset, especially when they were treated to the universally acclaimed Terry Evans BBQ. Sessions are planned for every Wednesday, weather permitting.

VHF Usage

An appreciative audience certainly learnt a great deal about VHF usage from a very detailed talk given by Keith John. I understand there will be a hands-on back-up session in the near future which will result in members acquiring VHF usage certificates, now required by law. Watch this space for further details. Andrew Lowe thanked Keith for input and taking the time to visit Tenby.

Club Steward and Opening Hours

The club is delighted to have acquired the services of Nicholas Bolwell who will be our steward for the summer at least. He commences his duties on Monday, June 8.

Nicholas is very keen to get on the right side of the ravenous hordes which frequent the club. There will be food available at all times, which will include some theme evenings. Come on down and support Nicholas on his culinary ventures.

The club will be open every evening and Sunday lunchtime from this weekend. I understand there will be food available during these lunchtime openings.

Congratulations

Many congratulations to Saundersfoot Sailing Club who celebrated their 60th anniversary last weekend. Our members will raise a glass or two on their behalf.
