Sunday sailing

Alas, conditions were such that sailing did not take place. So the final result of the frostbite series will depend on the Boxing Day race. We wait with bated breath.

Junior Party and Prize-giving

As mentioned last week, the evening was well attended and was enjoyed by all. Several fun activities were going on simultaneously, with the juniors - and even some of the seniors - really giving it their all. There was plenty of food for the energetic juniors - many thanks to Karen Morris, Julia Dashfield and company for all their hard work in organising the evening. The prizes were presented by rear-commodore, Mark Brace. All agreed the evening had been a great success.

Jam Evening

A large turnout enjoyed a great evening of music. Many thanks to Terry Evans and Will Scott for co-ordinating the event. Will even won the raffle bear called Will. Ross Llewellyn's rendering of Slade's famous Christmas song was enjoyed by all present. The next session will take place on Wednesday, January 14, 2009. Don't miss it - it's the place to be.

Christmas Party

An excellent evening was had by all who attended the Christmas party. Terry Evans and Julia Dashfield fed the ravenous with steak baguettes and paninis with various tasty fillings. Participants had their minds tested with Terry Evans's festive anagrams and a simple quiz. The winning team, led by Ann Thomas, won a deer, appropriately called Rudolph.

Boxing Day Swim

As usual, the club will be open on Boxing Day. On offer will be mulled wine and mince pies, as well as the ever-popular bacon butties.

Also, the annual Boxing Day draw will take place - there are several 'cuddly toys', hampers etc. to be won! Get your name on the grid to avoid disappointment.
