Five dinghies turned out on Sunday for race five of the Icebreaker series. Undeterred by the freshening wind forecast, the fleet launched in brilliant sunshine to make the most of the remains of the easterly swell and hopefully good surfing conditions. With a strong surge in the harbour, everyone was relieved to make it out to the start area without any mishaps where they discovered a rapidly building breeze. With safety in mind, the fleet opted for a blast around the cans, rather than a race further offshore. Several capsizes and some high speed planes had everyone buzzing when the fleet returned to the beach, taking care to avoid the slipway which was alive with breakers and storm surge. Thanks again to Angelo for providing safety cover. Next weekend the youth team of Max and Connor are back in action in Neyland for the RS Feva squad training, flying the flag for Tenby - so don't spend so long upside down next week Max! Many thanks to Dan Jackson for the above contribution to this week's article. Sailing as usual next week with an 11 am prompt start.
