Conditions on Sunday morning were such that sailing was not a viable proposition. However, the eager faithful were treated to bacon butties and a hot beverage. Let us hope for more clement weather this Sunday.
Intrepid Duo Return
Angelo Fecci and Tommy D'Ortez have recently returned from an epic voyage on the sail training vessel, the Prince William. Initially the first leg of the voyage was from Swansea to Ireland, but atrocious conditions meant a re-route to France. The voyage took in the port of St. Malo, a beautiful walled town in northern Brittany. After a very pleasant stay in St. Malo, the final leg saw the two mariners return to Portsmouth. Both agreed the trip had been fun and a huge learning experience. Well done both!
Darts
We won! Yes, we won by the fact that the opposition could not raise a team and hence forfeited the match. This evening is a home event which is obligatory. Captain Terry Evans expects a good turnout when tactics will be discussed.
Annual General Meeting
This important meeting was well attended. Vice commodore, Mark Dashfield, took the chair in the absence of commodore Daniel Jackson. In the commodore's address, read by Mark Dashfield, Daniel stated that the club had had a very good year which saw an increase in all aspects of the club. He thanked all who had made the year so successful and looked forward to another exceptional year. In his reply, Mark Dashfield thanked the commodore for all his efforts and reiterated the wish for another successful year. After the financial report the new committee was elected as follows: Commodore - Daniel Jackson; vice-commodore - Mark Dashfield; rear-commodore - Terry Evans; secretary - Blake Shaw; treasurer - Terry Evans; membership secretary - Julia Dashfield; cruiser captain - John Griffiths; sailing secretary - Steve Davie; sailing captain - Paul Evenden; house chairman - Daniel Jackson; press officer - Terry Evans; bursar - Paul Evenden. Bar committee - Blake Shaw, Terry Evans, Colin Parmenter; committee - Ruth Tebbutt, Karin Morris, John Ackrill, Marc Shepherd, Mark Brace, Roy Lawrence, junior representatives - Tommy D'Ortez and Angelo Fecci After the election of officers and committee members, a lively debate took place to review the annual subscriptions. For details of the new rates, please refer to the newsletter which has recently been circulated to members. Good news also for anyone wishing to join. There is a £20 discount for the first year. Wow, what a deal! All agreed the meeting had been very productive.

Apologies! Due to circumstances beyond the club's control, the party, scheduled for tomorrow, has been re-scheduled for next Saturday, December 16. Parents are invited as well as their offspring. This hamper, lavishly prepared by Julia Dashfield, is worth winning. Tickets are also available at the club.
