Thirteen sailors turned up on Sunday for the seventh race of the frostbite series. A force 2 to 3 and sunny conditions greeted the fleet, which included three junior sailors. Race officer Blake Shaw, ably assisted by safety officer Karin Morris, set a very short starboard course, keeping everyone on their toes. The Phantom of Ted Lewis, making his first appearance of the winter, sailed a superb race to secure the win, closely followed by the commodore, Daniel Jackson, in his RS600, who struggled in the shifty conditions. Third overall went to the Wayfarer of Paul Evenden and Anthea Paterson, who are now consistently scoring podium finishes in their third season of sailing. A tough battle amongst the juniors led to Jonathon Morris in his Topper beating the two Tera's by a small margin. Well done Jonathon.  Anyone willing to help man a safety boat, please get in touch with Daniel on 01834 813397. Helpers are always needed.  At the halfway point, with the final race of the series on Boxing Day, the overall positions stand as follows: equal 1. Paul Evenden and Anthea Paterson in a Wayfarer, Dan Jackson in a RS600; 3. Mike Stace and Deanna Morton in an Osprey; 4. Neil Roberts in a Laser.

Darts

Normality has returned to the club's darting fraternity. Yes, we lost. It's the double problem yet again. There is no league match scheduled for this evening, so captain Terry Evans is insisting on an evening of doubles practice. Participating members please note it is obligatory to attend.

Tenby Blues Festival

What a superb evening of music! A very large audience was captivated by the skill and musicality of local duo, Jesterband, who played a variety of blues styles. Matthew Ord also impressed with his very skilful guitar playing. He's certainly a name to look for in the future. All agreed that Tenby Sailing Club was the place to be last Saturday evening.

Blues Jam Evening

Whilst on the blues theme, don't forget the monthly jam session next Wednesday, November 22, when we shall also be celebrating a landmark birthday of a club member. Yes, Terry Evans is 60 on November 21. Blues fans, let's give him a birthday to remember next Wednesday.
