Another excellent turnout enjoyed a superb morning's sailing. The race officer set a course in keeping with the initial light conditions. Fortunately, as the wind speed increased, the direction remained constant. There were a few spectacular capsizes, which meant several position changes during the course of the race. The increase in wind speed suited the trapeze fraternity and Paul Evenden and Anthea Paterson in their Wayfarer. After handicaps had been taken into account, the Wayfarer proved a very conclusive winner. Only two seconds separated second and third! The final positions were as follows. 1. Paul Evenden and Anthea Paterson in a Wayfarer; 2. Mike Stace and Deanna Morton in an Osprey; 3. Daniel Jackson in a RS600; 4. Neil Roberts in a Laser; 5. Matthew May in a Topper; 6. Peter Sparks in a Solo. Well done Matthew May for a superb position against some stern opposition. Many thanks to Blake Shaw for running the race - the members appreciate your time and effort. Mike Stace and Deanna Morton's visit to Rutland Water proved eventful and successful. Their first venture into the Osprey Inland Championships resulted in 11th place overall, an outstanding result considering the large entry and the vast experience of many of the fleet. Racing as usual this Sunday.

Winter Jobs

Thanks to new member Paul John for his sterling work on Monday, assisting the working party. There's still a lot to do. If any member and/or friend are in a position to lend a hand please contact Daniel on 813397. Many thanks in anticipation.

Darts

We lost by the narrowest of margins. Yet again, the inability to get that final double proved our downfall. We are away to Diggers this evening. Captain Terry Evans, who led by example last week, expects a vast improvement in our finishing. Participating members please note.

Tenby Blues Festival

The club is delighted to be part of the inaugural Tenby Blues Festival. Tomorrow (Saturday) evening the local blues trio Jesterband and the doyen of acoustic blues, Matthew Ord, will perform for members and friends. This promises to be an exceptional evening of blues music, so please make every effort to support these talented artists.

Blues Jam Evening

Whilst on the blues theme, don't forget the monthly jam session on Wednesday, November 22, when we shall also be celebrating a landmark birthday of a club member. More next week.

Late Hallowe'en and Bangers and Mash

Many thanks to Terry Evans and Ruth Tebbutt for feeding the masses with superb bangers and mash. Terry's legendary onion gravy was the 'icing on the cake'. The large turnout was very appreciative - so much so, that several adopted Oliver Twist's approach and asked for more!

The club has reverted to winter openings of Friday and Saturday evenings. Notice will be given of other opening times. There will be food available tomorrow evening.
