A very good turnout, especially from our junior section, 'enjoyed' very little wind. Race officer, Blake Shaw, set a course in keeping with the prevailing conditions. The strong tide caused problems which necessitated a general recall. The wind strength increased slightly enabling the RS600, the Wayfarer and the Laser to stem the tide to the first mark. The wind, or lack of it, meant that only two boats were able to complete the course. The final 1-2 was as follows: 1. Daniel Jackson in a RS600; 2. Neil Roberts in a Laser. Congratulations to Neil for his first podium finish. Many thanks to Race Officer Blake Shaw for his efforts. It was not the easiest of tasks setting a course in the conditions described above. Thanks also to Chris Thomas for acting as safety officer for the day. Commodore, Daniel Jackson, would like to thank all who have given of their time completing several winter maintenance projects. There's still a lot to do. If any member and/or friend is in a position to lend a hand, please contact Daniel on 813397. Many thanks in anticipation. I have no information to hand concerning Mike Stace and Deanna Morton's visit to Rutland Water which hosted the Osprey Inland Championships. Watch this space. Racing as usual this Sunday.
Darts
Woe! Thrice woe! We lost. Our fairytale run of victories was halted by a comprehensive beating by a strong Jeffreyston side. Captain, Terry Evans, was not a happy bunny when he heard the news. This week we are home to the Swanlake Inn, another strong darting outfit. The troops must regroup and put aside the bitter memory of last week's thrashing. Participating members please note!
