Sail Training
Wednesday saw another full turnout of enthusiastic trainees enjoying ideal conditions. Principal instructor, Blake Shaw, is delighted with the regular plethora of eager trainees. The success of the Wednesday sessions has created a problem of personnel. We need more parents to help, if at all possible, with the rigging and de- rigging of boats and many other land-based jobs. If you can help in any way, please let us know. After the training session, the ravenous hordes were treated to the legendary Terry Evans BBQ. Many thanks to Helen Berridge for her invaluable contribution to the success of the evening. One of our juniors, Jonathan Morris, is progressing very well on the CYRC. He was sixth overall which included some notable successes. He also performed very well at the Welsh Schools Championships, which were held last weekend on the Haven. This is a prestigious event, which attracts a large number of entries from all over Wales. Race officers Blake Shaw and Mark Dashfield were impressed by the turnout and standard of sailing.
Racing
Wednesday attracted a great turnout to do combat on the high seas. On this occasion the conditions seemed to suit the phantoms, which delighted Nick Berridge and Ted Lewis. The final 1-2-3-4 was as follows: Nick Berridge in a Phantom; Ted Lewis in a Phantom; Paul Evenden and Anthea Paterson in a Wayfarer; Tommy D'Ortez in a Laser. Sunday attracted the usual band of eager sailors, including the divine GP14. Conditions were very light indeed - so much so that only a few of the participants stemmed the tide to round the first mark. After a fine drift, the final 1-2-3 was as follows: Rolly Squibbs and Mark Shepherd in a Redwing; Nick Berridge in a Phantom; Mike Stace and Deanna Morton in a Redwing. Racing as usual this Sunday.

We thank you in anticipation. Friends of Greenhill Auction
