A large turnout enjoyed the relatively calm conditions compared with last week. After a close start, it soon became apparent that the Redwings were finding the light conditions very favourable. Race officer, Ed Dashfield, set a course in keeping with the conditions - his assistants, Rhys Thomas and Jonathan Lewis, made sure the safety procedures were adhered to. The final 1-2-3 was as follows: 1. Mike Stace and Deanna Morton in a Redwing; 2. Rolly Squibbs and Mark Shepherd in a Redwing; 3. Nick Berridge in his newly-acquired Phantom Racing as usual this Sunday, with the start at 11 am prompt.

Junior Sailing

The enrolment evening was a resounding success, with a plethora of juniors signing up for the sail training evening. The photo shows some juniors participating in a training session last season. These will take place each Wednesday, followed by Terry Evans's legendary, universally acclaimed barbecue.

Adult Sail Training

Every year the club runs a 'come and try' session for adults who may be interested in learning to sail. This year the event takes place on the weekend of May 19/20/21. Tuition, as in the case of junior sail training, is given by well qualified and experienced sailors. If any adult would like to take up the offer, please contact Blake Shaw on 842535 for further details.

Blues Jam Session

What a night! The music was superb with some interesting interpretations. Many thanks to all the musicians who contributed and to the hordes of 'blues fans' who supported us. Many thanks also to Terry Evans and Bruce Campell for co-ordinating the evening. Don't miss the next session, which is on Wednesday, May 17.

The Great Grill Evening

By popular demand, instead of a carvery, there will be great grill evening tomorrow (Saturday) evening. To add spice to an already successful format, there will be a variety of meats on offer. Should members and friends wish to participate, please contact Terry Evans on 844256 as soon as possible so that appropriate meats can be acquired?

Great news!

The legendary Terry Evans barbecue is due to return to the scene on Wednesday, April 26, (not the19th as mentioned in a previous article) and will continue every Wednesday until September.
