On Sunday, January 29, a working party will begin to tackle the usual winter jobs. If any member can lend a hand, please contact commodore, Daniel Jackson, on 813397, or Rolly Squibbs on 842170.
DARTS
We lost yet again! Our performance as a team was dismal to say the least. The only successes were the wins by Rolly Squibbs in the singles and Mike Stace and Terry Evans in the doubles. Captain, Terry Evans, has warned the team of 'dire consequences' if there is no improvement in the next match. There is no game this evening, so the obligatory practice session will take place. The next match is at home to the Basscatchers on Friday, January 20. Participating members please note.
NEW YEAR CARVERY
The New Year carvery was enjoyed by an excellent turnout. Many thanks to Blake Shaw and Terry Evans for co-ordinating and preparing the feast. Many thanks also to John Akrill and Karin Morris for their invaluable efforts during the evening. All agreed the evening had been a culinary delight.
GREAT STEAK EVENING
This popular evening takes place on Saturday, January 21. Reservations are now being taken. Any member wishing to partake of this sumptuous feast should contact Terry Evans on 844256 as soon as possible. Perhaps the attraction of real home-made chips will tempt you. He looks forward to feeding you.
BLUES JAM EVENING
This extremely popular musical treat takes place on Wednesday, January 18. These talented musicians freely give of their time and deserve our support. There will be the usual mouth-watering snacks available, so why not kill the winter blues by attending a superb blues evening.
