The final race of the season took place on Boxing Day which attracted a good turnout. One intrepid couple, Mike Stace and Deanna Morton, had an 'early bath' when the 470 they were sailing sprung a leak. They managed, through very skilful sailing, to return to base safely. The results of the Frostbite series and Boxing Day race were as follows. Frosbite Series: 1. Paul Evenden and Anthea Paterson in a Wayfarer; 2. Nick Berridge in a Phantom; 3. Mike Stace and Deanna Morton in a Redwing. Boxing Day Trophy: 1. Govan Berridge in a Laser; 2. Paul Evenden and Anthea Paterson in a Wayfarer. The trophies were presented by commodore Daniel Jackson. What news of the Tenby contingent who sailed the winter series on the Haven? I'm delighted to report that yacht Artful Dodger, skippered by Daniel Jackson, came second overall in Division Two, while Tony Spiller and Billy Stubbs, in yacht Amphora, also come second overall in Division Three. Congratulations to all concerned. I understand that Daniel won the fancy dress competition in the end of season prize-giving party. Sailing will resume in the spring - we look forward to another successful season.
