Sunday's turnout was again most encouraging. Conditions were very demanding which tested the skill and nerve of the participants. The final 1-2-3 was as follows: 1. Nick Berridge in a Phantom; 2. Nathan Spiller in a Laser Vortex; 3. Paul Evenden and Anthea Paterson in a Wayfarer. Racing as usual this Sunday. Cruiser racing is also taking place on the Haven. At the halfway stage, the Tenby contingent is doing very well. In division two, yacht Artful Dodger, helmed by Daniel Jackson, is lying in second place. In division three, yacht Amphora, manned by Billy Stubbs and Tony Spiller, features at the top end of the fleet. Billy and Tony have consistently finished in the top four, especially when the conditions are extremely gusty, which obviously suit yacht Amphora. Both sets of crews are hoping to continue their run of good results in the second half of the series. Watch this space for further developments.
DARTS
Another close encounter not in our favour. We lost again by the narrowest of margins. Captain, Terry Evans, was not surprised considering the lack of form shown by several key members. He is hoping for a return to winning ways this evening when we are away to the Prince of Wales. Participating members please note.
BANGERS AND MASH EVENING
This proved to be a very pleasant evening, with several members braving the torrid conditions to taste the universally acclaimed bangers and mash with the award-winning onion gravy prepared by Terry Evans. Many thanks to Terry, whose culinary skills are legendary.
ANNUAL DINNER AND PRIZE-GIVING
The demand for places at this annual feast is very encouraging. Commodore, Mike Stace, urges members who intend to participate to inform him as soon as possible as numbers are approaching the upper limit.
