Rolly Squibbs and Alastair McKay are having a very successful season. The recent Three Rivers race held by Ferryside Sailing Club was well attended, with Rolly and Alastair taking third place overall, and also being the first visitors.

Unfortunately, conditions were unsuitable for the trainees to do any sailing last Wednesday. The large turnout was disappointed, but looked forward to next week.

Sunday's conditions were challenging for the usual large turnout. The race was keenly contested, with Nathan Spiller in a Vortex enjoying the testing conditions to take first place ahead of the Redwings.

The final placings were: 1. Nathan Spiller (Vortex); 2. Rolly Squibbs and Alastair McKay (Redwing); 3. Mike Stace and Deanna Morton (Redwing).

Well done Nathan - the Vortex is obviously suited to strong winds. Unfortunately, the divine GP14 did not participate (sorry fans), its helm being committed to Saundersfoot Sailing Club's Cruiser Weekend.

Many thanks to Saundersfoot Sailing Club for their effort over the weekend, in particular to race officers, John and Paul Griffiths. The Tenby contingent did very well - results next week.

The club is hosting the national Merlin Rockets Championship the week beginning August 12. A large number of entries is expected which will require a great deal of organisation to ensure everything runs smoothly.
