On Friday, August 15th, the Tenby branch of the Royal British Legion will be holding a special service in the seaside town to commemorate VJ Day – Victory over Japan – and to honour those who served in the Far East during the Second World War.
“As part of this tribute, we are preparing a presentation celebrating the lives of veterans and loved ones connected to this conflict, especially those with a connection to Tenby and the surrounding area,” said a spokesperson for the Tenby RBL.
“We’re still looking for families, photos, and stories of anyone who served during the war in the Far East – whether military or civilian – to be included in this moving remembrance of Tenby’s unique contribution and sacrifice.
“A few families have already come forward, and we’re incredibly grateful. But we would love to include as many names and faces as possible to ensure they are never forgotten.
“If you have a photo or a story to share, please get in touch via private message or email. Let’s make this VJ Day service a powerful moment of remembrance for our community. We will remember them.”
Please email: [email protected] if you would like to be included.
