Tenby Round Table will be running its charitable Summer Spectacular events this Summer as normal, despite two other organisations taking a step back this year.

2022 was a record breaking year for Round Tablers from Tenby, as they raised a whopping £27,344 for worthy causes!

This money was raised from two Beer Festivals held at the town’s De Valence Pavilion venue; a Santa Run around the seaside town; and of course two record-breaking Summer Spectaculars at Tenby’s picturesque harbour.

After a two year hiatus, due to the pandemic, Tenby’s popular Summer Spectacular events returned to the seaside town last year.

The events tend to run from the last Sunday in July, right up to the last Sunday in August, covering the Bank Holiday weekend, with thousands of people attending to enjoy live entertainment, bands and the amazing firework displays to round off the nights - and at the same time, helping to raise thousands of pounds for charitable and worthy causes.

However, The Rotary Club of Tenby and the Tenby and District Lions have both announced this week that they will not be running their events this year.

Normally the Rotary would cover two Sunday events; with the Lions taking the final Spectacular of the season.

Round Table though have said it will be business as usual for their organisation this summer, with their volunteers looking forward to putting on their events as normal.

“Tenby Round Table is sorry to hear that both Tenby Lions and Rotary are unable to host three of the five summer spectaculars this year - but we are committed to continue to host our two events for the people of, and visitors, to Tenby,” remarked current chairman: Ieuan Rowell.

“These events are vital fundraisers and (the two) raised £10,000 in 2022 which allowed us to support numerous causes and charities in the local area. We hope to be able to continue them for the foreseeable future.

“With the increased costs of hosting these events, Tenby Round Table are looking for local businesses to support us as headline sponsors for our two events.

“If this sounds like something you can support please reach out to us via our Facebook page,” he continued.

“These events, now more than ever, require the support of those attending them, the numerous volunteers who put them on, and the local authority who regulate and licence them.

“We will be announcing the dates for our events shortly and look forward to welcoming you all back to Tenby Harbour this summer,” added Ieuan.

Tenby Round Table are accepting applications for funding/support which should be made in writing c/o The Giltar Hotel, Tenby.
