Following Tenby's recent success in the national Britain in Bloom contest, the organisers of Wales in Bloom have announced that the town will be put forward again to compete in next year's event.
It will be the third year running that the resort will have taken part in the annual Royal Horticultural Society competition, having this year been awarded a Silver-Gilt in the 'Coastal up to 12K' category at the awards for the second year running.
Tenby also picked up the 'Tourism Award' at the Britain in Bloom presentations held in St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland, recently, an accolade presented to the finalist demonstrating the most effective use of their local 'in bloom' initiatives as a means of encouraging and supporting towns in their area.
"It's absolutely tremendous that the town has been put forward again, we're so close to turning a silver into a gold award, that next year hopefully everyone can pull together to pull it off," said Tenby in Bloom chairman, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane.
"After Christmas, we'll be looking for feedback and input from groups, organisations and individuals on ideas for what we can do to make another bid for gold at next year's Britain in Bloom contest," she added.
