TENBY Players, the award-winning local theatre group, will open the 2005 season with a gala evening of drama and comedy at local theatres in Narberth, Tenby and Pembroke. This opening production will consist of three one-act plays, one of which will be selected to be the Players' entry in the Pembrokeshire Drama Association One-Act Festival at the Torch Theatre in late April. Each evening opens with 'Dragons in the Caves', by Brainer Duffield and Helen and Nolan Leary. This is a poignant and powerful drama set in a New England fisherman's home, and is directed by David Owen. The second play is 'Interior Designs', by Jimmie Chinn. Directed by Rhob Pattinson, this comedy/drama highlights the effect a scheming decorator has on three gullible housewives. The programme ends with 'Last Panto in . . ?, by David Tristam. Directed by Jackie Hickling, this is the latest of a popular series of hilarious comedies based on the trials and tribulations of a village dramatic society. The Players' Gala Evenings are Tuesday, March 29, at Queen's Hall, Narberth; Wednesday and Thursday, March 30 and 31 at the De Valence, Tenby; and Saturday, April 2, at Pembroke Town Hall. At all locations, the doors will be opened at 7.15 pm and the show will start at 8 pm. Tickets will be available at each theatre from 7.15 on performance evenings, and also from mid-March at Val's Café at the De Valence and the Pembroke Town Hall foyer office.
