The production has been partly written by Mike Thorne, and is a potted (possibly potty) history of Tenby, which will be presented in about 15 minutes. So far there are about 40 characters, of all ages and genders, though it could be performed by two or three actors if necessary.
The cast will assist in writing the play over the next two months. The provisional title is 'Are we nearly there Dad?'
Writer and director Mike Thorne said: "Some people may remember our production of 'Journey into Space' performed on the Harbour Beach two years ago, featuring Commander Binbag, Polluting Pirate Pete, Jason the Jellyfish, and Kaptin Kleenup. Some of you may wish to forget it.
"Whatever your feelings, we are going to do something even more artistic this summer.
If you would like to take part, including help with costumes and props, please come this Friday evening to the County Club on The Croft at 7.30 pm."
Other members of Tenby Players are busy rehearsing the Farndale Avenue Murder Mystery, for presentation in September, and there will shortly be further performances of their successful production of 'On Golden Pond'.
The Players will be repeating that at the Queens Hall, Narberth, on June 27, and again at the De Valence for every Thursday in July.
