Busy December

Deputy Mayor of Tenby, Clr. Mrs. Kerri Durham, wished Tenby Events well with their busy December programme at the De Valence when she gave a report to her council colleagues about a De Valence Trust meeting she had recently attended.

Bells Corner

Pembrokeshire County Council is to be asked to take action on removing advertising A-boards at the Welcome to Tenby layby at the town's Bells Corner, following a request from former Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, this week.

Clean-up assurance sought

Tenby Town Council is seeking an assurance from the local authority that a full clean-up will be undertaken after excavation work to dig out the old moorings at the town's harbour and lay new ones is completed. There have been fears that 'contaminated' sand has been dumped on North Beach and the request for a clean-up was made by Clr. Mrs. Julie Evans at Tuesday night's meeting of the council. The matter was also highlighted in a story in last week's issue when concerned resident, Mrs. Alyson Bush, feared the dumped material was a 'timebomb' for the future of the resort.

Bottle bank

Where can mini bottle banks be located in strategic locations in the centre of Tenby? That's the question being posed by town councillors. Although a further full-sized bottle bank is now located in the Butts Field Car Park, members of the council would like to see mini glass recycling banks in the town itself for residents who do not have cars to use. "Can we compile a list of possible locations and bring our suggestions back to the next meeting," said Clr. Mrs. Caroline Thomas. Clr. Mrs. Julie Evans, meanwhile, welcomed the new facility at Butts Field on behalf of Tenby North residents.
