Tenby Museum and Art Gallery has re-opened to the public after temporary closing on Monday due to issues with the building’s roof caused by windy weather.
The temporary closure came into place on Monday (August 14) after it was noticed at 7 am that a section of the flat roof on the foyer of the building located on Castle Hill, was lifting with the wind, and inspected as a matter of urgency.
With building inspectors attending, it was decided that the best course of action to make the structure safe was to have scaffolding erected on Tuesday morning that will provide edge protection and can be utilised to stop the flat roof from lifting.
The scaffolding and roof restraint is now in place with a further inspection to take place to assess the condition and a way forward.
A spokesperson for Tenby Museum said: “We are now open. We hope to see you this afternoon at the Museum and Art Gallery.
“Thank you for your patience while we dealt with our building repairs.”
