A mum-of-two from Tenby will face her greatest fear this weekend to raise money for the charity she worked for for five years.
Despite being terrified of heights, Terri Morgan will climb into a plane at Swansea Airport on Sunday (August 10) to complete a 10,000ft skydive.
Terri is originally from Cinderford in the Forest of Dean and volunteered at the Sue Ryder shop in the town for five years.
Sue Ryder is a palliative care and bereavement support charity which runs a hospice at Leckhampton near Cheltenham.
She said: “My mum manages to Sue Ryder shop here and I volunteered here for over five years.
“I just want to raise some money for a good cause. They're a great charity, a great team, and they do great things.
“I I wanted to do something special and grab people's attention. I didn't think a cake sale would have the same effect.
“I’ve never done anything like a skydive before, so it’s a real first for me.”
“I'm really looking forward to it – I am nervous, but I like doing things that scare me, so I think it'll be fine.
“I more nervous about the going up than the jumping out for some reason. I'm not very keen on heights.
“I don't know I'm gonna feel when they' they open the door.
“Once I’m up there I’ve got to get back down so its got to be done.
“I won't be coming back down on the plane, I'll definitely be in the air,” she added.
Terri’s mum, Kathy, and her two children, nine-year-old Becca and 12-year-old Laiton will be at Swansea Airport as she makes the jump.
Terri is aiming to raise £1,000 for the charity.
