Tenby mum Michelle Evans-Fecci was cut from the competition on Tuesday after a double elimination on TV’s ‘Great British Bake Off’.

Thirty-six-year old Michelle who was crowned ‘star baker’ in the first week of the contest was axed by the Channel 4 judges along with fellow contestant Helena.

Michelle said that it had been an ‘emotional’ experience being on the popular cooking show and one of the best experiences of her life, but she was left disappointed leaving when she did as she felt she had so much more to give.”

"I got halfway through, I never imagined that. I never set myself a goal of how far I could get, so halfway was amazing. I was just so happy to get into the tent,” she remarked.

“I hope I have made Wales proud of me, I tried to fly the flag for Wales this year, and I didn’t want to disappoint anyone. I gave my all and I really tried in all of my bakes to introduce a little bit of Wales into the tent.

“The support in Wales has been totally amazing,” she continued, adding that she made ‘lifelong friends’ with the other bakers.
