Ahead of next Tuesday’s Council meeting Mayor-Elect Clr. Mrs. Sam Skyrme-Blackhall has announced that she will be nominating Clr. Mrs. Tracey Evans for the position of Deputy Mayor for the coming year.

Speaking to the Observer she said “I have worked closely with Tracey on a number of issues including Dementia-Friendly Tenby.

“I know how capable and hard-working she is and I am sure she will be a great help to me in the year ahead”

Clr. Mrs. Evans, who has been on the Council since 2018, came to Tenby from Cardiff 22 years ago.

She met her husband, a local chef soon after, and the couple live in Newell Hill with their nineteen-year-old son and ten-year-old daughter.

Clr. Mrs. Evans previously worked for local Solicitors Jones and Jones for several years before becoming very active with voluntary work.

She has been a Governor of Greenhill since 2011 and is also on the Governors at Tenby VC Primary School where she was involved in the School Mosaic project.

During the Coronavirus crisis, whilst shielding, Clr. Mrs. Evans has helped with the running of the ‘Tenby Together’ page and has also been keeping in touch with isolated members of the community through regular telephone calls.

Speaking ahead of Tuesday’s meeting, Clr. Mrs. Evans said: “Providing that the Council agree with my nomination, I very much look forward to working with the Mayor Elect on lots of exciting projects in the future, with Community being at the very heart of it all.”
