Police are investigating the death of a 41-year-old fisherman from Tenby who fell overboard from the deck of his 40-foot boat near Skokholm Island off the Pembrokeshire coast on Saturday. Milford Haven coastguards were alerted shortly before 10 am that a man had fallen overboard in the stretch of water between Skokholm Island and St. Anne's Head. The man, who has been named by Dyfed Powys Police as Andrew David Jenkins, was airlifted from the water by a rescue helicopter from RAF Chivenor in Devon, and taken to Withybush Hospital where he later died. Another crew member from the Pembroke area was airlifted to shore at Milford Haven where he was treated by paramedics for shock. The St. David's lifeboat, a Port Authority vessel and two other fishing boats also responded to the call. Mr. Jenkins, of Tyssul Court, Lower Park Road, was the owner and skipper of the Calon Môr fishing vessel, which operated out of Milford Haven. His next of kin have been advised, as have HM Coroner and the Maritime Accident Investigation Board.
