The choir was saddened to learn of the loss of Anthea Nixon, wife of Keith Nixon, a loyal top tenor. Our thoughts are with Keith and his family at this sad time.

Our final public commitment takes place on Tuesday, November 11. The choir will be taking part in a Remembrance Day Service held at St. Mary's, Tenby. As well as the choir normal concert repertoire, there will be relevant readings, songs sung by mezzo soprano, Rhian Morgan and our own tenor, Paul Varallo. The concert will end with a short service to dedicate the standards and renovated window.

The occasion, aptly named 'Our Town Remembers', is an opportunity for the whole community to come together to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in order that we can enjoy our freedom and way of life. The concert starts at 7.30 pm and will end with a retiring collection in aid of the charity 'Combat Stress'.

Let's pack the church and show all and sundry how a town remembers - so please come along to what promises to be a memorable evening.

As mentioned last week, at the end of November the choir will be recording its new CD which will be on general release early in the New Year. 2015 is an important year for the choir when we will be celebrating our 40th anniversary (more on this later).

The 2015 programme is full and is in the process of being finalised - if any organisation wishes to put in a request for the choir's services for 2016, please make your request as soon as possible as it looks as if 2016 is going to be another busy year.

To repeat myself (ad infinitum) - we are entering our learning period, so this would be an excellent time for anyone who wishes to join the choir. We are a very friendly 'bunch of lads' who enjoy singing and a binding camaraderie which is often commented upon by those who meet us. So why not come along and see what it's all about. You won't regret it! Rehearsals take place twice a week from 8 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Tenby and County Club on the Croft.

As stated above, the 2015 concert programme is full, but the choir is prepared to consider further requests such as weddings or private functions - anyone interested in booking the choir for a wedding or a private function should contact secretary David Stewart-Walvin on 01834 844926. There is also information about the choir on our website and a Facebook account (just do an internet search for Tenby Male Choir Facebook). You can also order a CD via our website and you can get more information on anything about the choir by contacting the chairman, Terry Evans, on 01834 844256, or the secretary on the number above.
