Three-year ban for Kilgetty driver

A Kilgetty motorist, Nicholas Pasotti, of Bush Lodge, 4 Broadmoor, was banned from driving for three years by magistrates sitting in Tenby on Tuesday.

Nineteen-year-old Pasotti, who is employed as a chef in the town, failed to give a breathalyser test after he decided to drive home from work on April 28 and ran into some railings outside St. Agatha's.

This minor collision was brought to the police's attention and officers present claimed they could smell alcohol on the defendant and he was duly arrested when he failed to give a specimen.

Pasotti, who admitted the charge, only received his licence back in April 2002, after a previous drink-drive offence.

As well as the ban, the defendant was fined £150 and ordered to pay £55 costs, with 10 penalty points on his licence.

Fined for drugs offence

A St. Florence man, Delwyn Rees, of 9 Greenacres, was fined £50 by magistrates sitting in Tenby on Tuesday after he admitted possessing a small quantity of cannabis, intended for personal use.

A destruction order was made for the drugs, while 26-year-old Rees was also ordered to pay £55 costs.

Further charges of threats to kill and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, which had been brought against him, were withdrawn.

Order extended

A young Tenby man was ordered to perform an extra 20 hours community service by magistrates sitting in the town on Tuesday.

The court heard that 18-year-old Thomas Smith, of Red Lodge, Cresswell Street, had breached a previous order made last year, but they decided to give him a final chance to attend and serve his sentence.
