Both Tenby lifeboats were launched at 3.25 pm on Tuesday with a paramedic and coastguard team aboard following a report that a tourist had collapsed after suffering from suspected anaphylactic shock whilst on Caldey Island. The lifeboats were quickly on scene and due to the low tide, the inshore lifeboat ferried the paramedic and coastguard team ashore. Once the casualty had been assessed by the paramedic, it was decided that he needed to be evacuated by helicopter so RAF Rescue 169 was tasked. The helicopter then flew the casualty to Morriston Hospital in Swansea. The inshore lifeboat then ferried the paramedic, coastguard and casualty's family aboard the lifeboat and returned to Tenby.
