Tenby's inshore and all-weather lifeboats were launched last Thursday, following a report of an upturned RIB being spotted in the sea off Skrinkle.

Both lifeboats made best speed to the scene shortly after 3.30 pm, where they found the upturned RIB and searched for signs that it had been recently occupied.

Both boats then started a search of the whole area whilst Tenby Coastguard teams searched the cliffs and shoreline.

After investigating the vessel, Milford Haven Coastguard discovered that the RIB had in fact been reported lost from a larger vessel earlier in the month.

The RIB was taken in tow to Lydstep Haven, where it was left with members of Tenby Coastguard.

The rescue team and both lifeboats then returned to Tenby some two hours after launching.
