Tenby Ladies Hockey Club recently held their Annual Senior Dinner at an altogether different (and fantastic) venue from previous years. Annie Rossiter kindly let all the senior hockey players into her house for the evening and what a great night it was.... many thanks Annie and Jeremy! There were many highlights of the evening. Annie Lindsell and captain Mandy Lewis were recognised for their Welsh Over 40s Veterans caps with some lovely framed photographs produced by Michelle and Nigel. Annie and Mandy did Tenby proud by being part of the Welsh team who beat the English in the first veterans ladies tournament in Swansea recently. Other awards went to Barnie Squires - well- deserved Tenby Ladies Hockey senior player-of- the-year; Miriam Brown - top goalscorer of the year; Rachel Davies - top youth player-of-the-year; Nigel - top supporter of the year; Ruth Ferguson - clubperson of the year, Captain's Trophy winner and most improved player of the year. The Under 15s held their own dinner a few weeks before at the Wisemans Bridge and Jo Thomas was awarded player-of-the-year. Well done to all the girls for a great first season. Thanks to Dave Miller for his continued support as club coach and umpire, as well as Gill Lewis, also for her excellent umpiring. Tenby Ladies Hockey Club is continuing to expand and is now forming an Under 18s team, together with the Under 15s and senior sides. If you would like to be part of a friendly club and want to get fit, join them at their first training session of the season on Thursday, August 30 - Under 15s, 7 until 8 pm and Over 15s and seniors 8 - 9 pm.
