Tenby LHC 9

Crymych 0

Sunday saw Tenby travelling to Fishguard to take on a young Crymych side in the second league game of the season.

Tenby fielding a strong side were quick to take control and were two up in the first 10 minutes, with both Rachel and Barney finding the back of the net from penalty corners.

Good play down the right saw Mims slotting the ball home for the third.

Tenby continued to pressurise and a goal mouth scramble resulted in Sophie getting her name on the scorecard.

Crymych began to play with more confidence and were awarded a penalty corner which resulted in a typical Annie save.

In the 18th minute, Bryony took her turn latching on to a cross from the right. Late in the first half, Annie R., determined not to be out done, netted Tenby's sixth goal.

For the second half, coach Dave shuffled the pack. It took a while for the new formation to settle, but eventually a cross from the left was deftly put away by Georgia. Tenby converted a further penalty corner with a rocket shot from Rachel.

The final goal was claimed by Sophie with a touch in from another sound strike by Rachel.

What is not evident from the scorecard is the outstanding performance of the Crymych goalkeeper who produced countless saves. Crymych played wholeheartedly and are to be congratulated on their sporting attitude.

On a final note, congratulations to Mims on completing the Great North Run in a superb time of one hour 51 minutes.
