In atrocious weather conditions, Tenby Ladies' senior side took on Milford on Sunday. Despite the Tenby team missing key players through illness and holidays, they put in a sterling performance, with youngsters Georgia Lewis and Rosie Harden acquitting themselves extremely well. It was end to end hockey, with Tenby getting most of the chances in the first half through Sophie Treacy, Barnie Squires and Alex Pearce. Defenders Miriam Brown, Mandy Lewis, Ruth Ferguson and Sarah Mansbridge kept the Milford forwards at bay, with goalkeeper Annie Lindsell making a spectacular save. Seconds before half-time, however, it was 'super sub' Bryony Rees who slotted the ball into the Milford goal. Milford started the second half with greater determination and scored in the first minute, making the scores level. The driving wind and rain seemed to have taken its toll on the Tenby players as Milford added to their score minutes later. However, Julie Jones saved the day for Tenby, striking a great hit from the top of the circle to make the match level again. Tenby had second wind (!) in the dying minutes, but were unable to capitalise.
