Before a recent meeting of Tenby Ladies Circle, held at the home of Melanie, cheques for £1,000 each were presented to Tracy from Missing Wales and Mike for Wales Air Ambulance.
Chairman Jayne welcomed everyone to the meeting and thanked Melanie for hosting at short notice.
President Debbie was pleased to inform all that Kath M., Charlotte and Emma had passed their health and hygiene test.
Cath G. reported on the Flame of Friendship that had been hosted by Jane Meyrick. An enjoyable evening was had by all. Jane was thanked for her donation towards the president's charity. The flame was passed on to Cath G.
In her absence, Andrea's report on the area chairman's lunch and cheque presentation was read by honouree Julia. Those who attended had a lovely day out at the Mariners Hotel in Haverfordwest and £2,122.55 was presented to 'Contact the Elderly', which was the charity chosen by Bridgend. Andrea thanked everyone for her leaving gifts and was thankful that she had put on waterproof mascara!
Members have also visited Pembrokeshire Special Needs Gymnastic Club and presented them with a cheque.
Dates for the diary: April 19 - possible kids party (TBC), Melanie and Julia to arrange; April 24 - Area AGM in Ammanford; May 9 - Tenby handover dinner at Trefloyne, 7-7.30 pm, names to Cath G. please. Reminder to girls to bring cheque book to the April meeting to pay for dinner in advance; May 17 - chairman Jayne will be walking 26 miles in aid of Macmillan, if anyone wishes to join her; June 13 - Area handover lunch at Parc y Scarlets, Llanelli, £29.50. Names needed by May 23; June 27 - Wales Midlands Lunch in Dudley.
All officers were reminded that they need to do a written report for the annual general meeting and that all badges and the COTY clock needs to be returned to Jayne.
Jayne asked for any photographs to go into the Circle album.
Please note, the next meeting will be a day early on Wednesday, April 8, at the home of honouree Michelle Grigg, starting at 7.30 pm, which will be followed with the annual general meeting.
